About our school

Welcome

Gorokan Public School has 780 students. It is located in Gorokan near Toukley on the Central Coast of New South Wales in the Lake Macquarie Educational District. Our environment is ideal - our playground has a tennis court, climbing equipment, basket ball court, cricket nets as well as a large grassed area. The school has a Wetlands area and an Aboriginal Garden.

The Tuggerah Lake and Wallarah Point Park are only a short walk away.

Our school was opened in 1980. Our school community has helped us to build two large outdoor covered learning areas.

Our students come from a variety of backgrounds. The schools connections to our Aboriginal Community are acknowledged through extensive artworks throughout the school.

Our students study a comprehensive curriculum with an emphasis on Literacy.

Our mission statement, "Quality Education in a Caring Environment", accurately reflects the ideals of the Gorokan school community.
